Help Build a Fully Access Beach

In hopes of improving our community and bring awareness to accessibility concerns, Petrie Summer Smash (PSS) has one simple goal; to develop Orléans by making Petrie Island’s beach and facilities accessible to all; where those dealing with mobility issues will be able to easily and safely access Petrie Island and where children with disabilities could potentially have a specially designed play area, making it possible for them to interact with able bodied children as equals.  With the help of Miracle League of Ottawa, who have constructed Ottawa’s first and Canada’s second fully functional Miracle League program at the Notre-Dame des Champs Park in Orléans to include a field, playground structure and Clubhouse with fully accessible washrooms and change-rooms.

Last year’s PSS event was a great success and we hope to grow the tournament in 2019 by increasing the number of teams by 400%, extending the hours and adding more bands to capture a larger audience.  Help us attain our goal and turn this vision into a reality with your own stamp on it.  It wouldn’t be possible without the kindness and generosity of those in our community and the support of local businesses.
